When you take a load of no longer needed items to a local ministry, you're supposed to come home empty-handed, right? Well, I end up coming home with this...two tubs of the wooden section of the thrift store! {{gasp}} So funny! I picked out what I wanted and had the option to return the rest. My favorite pick of the loot was a piggy creation. However, I'm going to turn into an upcycled letter holder into something new.

Truth be told that I was praying and asking God what to work on next (as I usually do). I didn't want to head to the thrift store, but find something within my own stash that would fit the bill. BAM! What a blessing! Isn't it awesome?
Here's my project piece for today. I've shared a video of my adventure down below, but also will share my DIY steps here of my upcycled letter holder. Check out this piggy goodness. It may be kinda bland and boring now but wait until you see how it looks in the end. tee hee!
DIY TIME
Those plump porkers were begging to get their own individual style. First, to set the stage, I gave the entire piece a coat of a flat white paint.

Funny thing is, as soon as I got started, my littlest wanted to join in on the fun. But, of course, I say!

Next, it's time to add our piggy personalities once the paint cured. You'll have to tell me which one is your favorite. I love them all.

Last, I added a light coat of gray wax and then lightly distressed.
ALL DONE
When my portly piggy friends are done, I hung my upcycled letter holder in my kitchen for a bit of whimsy and fun.

This was so fun! My little upcycled letter holder can most certainly still hold letters. However, if you know me, I like to change it up.

In addition, it could also work in the bathroom as a hand towel holder. What would you use it for?
If you're loving this fun farmhouse creation, you can find it and much more available in
