Anyone here love storage bins like I do? Not only are we in the middle of our kitchen remodel, but a few weeks ago I showed you what I did with a few of the cabinets I had pulled out, like this flower trough... It looks to me like storage bins. Do you see it? Kitchen Shelf Before Repurposed Storage Bins | Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com

DIY TIME

With that in mind, I head to my scrap pile that is singing to me, "Here I come to save the day!" and grab a few pieces of wood to make front slats to enclose the bins. However, the wood wasn't the right width or length, so to fix that I use our table saw and then our miter saw. NEXT STEPS

Finally, I'm ready to stain those pieces and I just love the Early American stain. I have used it on endless projects like our master bedroom, bathroom remodel, and furniture, like my dresser. TIP: I use a toothpick to make fine lines/details and comes in so handy when painting small objects like toys, etc. DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint for Faux Chalkboard Labels by Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com Then, once the parts are all dry, I assemble it all together and get my repurposed kitchen cabinet storage bins. I love the endless uses they have for entry (store your kids' stuff), kitchen utensils, bathroom toiletries, laundry supplies. Likewise, if you would love to have this set of storage bins, you can find them in my online shop.

Even more, I still have one more cabinet left in my stash to find a new purpose. Hmmm...what will it become? Side View of Rustic Storage Bins Upcycled by Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com

You are so inspiring. I love to "see" after you are finished, what YOU "see" in some discardable thing. I love your blog!

You see so many of those corner cabinets in the landfill heaps. What a great way to repurpose them Larissa! I promised to make my daughter a coffee mug hanger with storage - you just inspired what I'll use for the storage component! Pinning to share?
