Anyone here love storage bins like I do? Not only are we in the middle of our
kitchen remodel, but a few weeks ago I showed you what I did with a
few of the cabinets I had pulled out, like this flower trough...
...and this chalkboard.
In addition, even my latest project using the cabinet doors.
After that, I promised that I would show you what I would do with the rest of my
junk stash, and this shelf that flanked my sink area is next on the hit list. It looks to me like storage bins. Do you see it?
DIY TIME
With that in mind, I head to my scrap pile that is singing to me, "Here I come to save the day!" and grab a few pieces of wood to make front slats to enclose the bins. However, the wood wasn't the right width or length, so to fix that I use our table saw and then our miter saw.
Subsequently, once the bin slats were cut, I use my Kreg Jig and drill to make pocket screw holes that allow me to assemble with no visible hardware.
NEXT STEPS
Finally, I'm ready to stain those pieces and I just love the Early American stain. I have used it on endless projects like
our master bedroom, bathroom remodel, and furniture, like
my dresser.
Last, to add a touch of fun, I decided to make faux chalkboard labels using
my transfer method and a touch of white.
TIP: I use a toothpick to make fine lines/details and comes in so handy when painting small objects like toys, etc.
Then, once the parts are all dry, I assemble it all together and get my repurposed kitchen cabinet storage bins.
Aren't they fun? I love the endless uses they have for entry (store your kids' stuff), kitchen utensils, bathroom toiletries, laundry supplies. Likewise, if you would love to have this set of storage bins, you can find them in

Even more, I still have one more cabinet left in my stash to find a new purpose. Hmmm...what will it become?
