As a mom to 6 children there are a few precious things in the life: my faith, my family, my health...and MY SLEEP. For real though, I am one of those people that can do anything, but if you mess with my sleep, this mama ain't happy. I can deal with babies at night, kids being up all night sick, and so on no problem. However, I just want a good night of rest on all the other nights, k? So, my first reaction when I got asked to do NECTAR mattress review was...umm...maybe. hahaha. Here I am, along with my gang of 8, to give my honest explanation of my sleeping saga.

I never jump into anything blind or recommend something to you without trying it myself first. So before committing to trying something that would affect my health and way of life and report it back to you, I researched. My goal in my health is to offer the best things for my body to survive at maximum potential with my diet and exercise, so why should my home environment be any different, right? Memory foam mattresses were something I had yet to try, so I had my reservations. In the past I've read of their toxic off-gassing that occurred and wasn't about to pollute my home. That was first and foremost in my mind because of how many hours we sleep on such a surface.
In my search I came upon several articles along with the
NECTAR mattress documentation that assured me that all materials were eco-friendly and had the
CertiPUR-US seal of approval - free of ozone depleters, toxic flame retardants, heavy metals like mercury or lead, formaldehyde, phthalates, and several other harmful chemicals like VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). NECTAR mattresses are comprised of 5 unique layers, with a supportive base layer, two layers of unique memory foams, a quilted gel foam, and a top layer designed for heat-wicking and pest-resistance.
What floored me the most was that NECTAR will ship you the mattress to your home for FREE (no needing a moving van or paying for delivery from a store), has a forever warranty,
and... you can try it for 365 days (a full year!!) and return it at their expense if you're not satisfied. That is unheard of. They really stand behind their product! Needless to say all of this got my attention and you can't beat that the price is right. See pricing

I went for the trial...{{suspense music begins}}. First off, a BIG blue package coming in the mail is fun! My kids were jumping all around waiting for me to open it. The mattress came in a nice zippered bag with another bag inside. The repurposer in me says...hmmm...I can reuse BOTH of these bags for Christmas garland, blankets...I like it!

Setup was easy enough. Just set the bagged mattress on your boxsprings and unpack.

The mattress is securely wrapped in a plastic wrap (can be recycled) and they send you an envelope opener so you can open it safely. Inside the roll the mattress is snug as a bug in a rug in another airtight package. JC (aka. husband) kept saying, "How in the world did they fit a queen mattress in there!" My homeschooling mommy brain thought, "That would be a cool field trip."

What you see is my new mattress looking kinda flat, huh? The company even included two queen pillows as well and a removable mattress cover for ease of washing. Yay!
At this point of my NECTAR mattress review, I was looking at it like...umm...this is the mattress? They told me it would puff up and boy did it ever! What you see below was only after 20 minutes of being unpacked. Isn't that cool?

My kids were loving it. All but our oldest piled on (he couldn't fit) so I snapped this pic before it even fully filled up. Our bedroom has always been a sweet spot in our home. It's were our kids go to play, for comfort, and a quiet spot to be. We love that they love our space so making sure our bed was cozy for them was very important to us.

During the time the mattress was filling, there was some off-gassing that was a bit strong to me for a time, but JC said he didn't notice. It did however, eventually dissipate. My first impression when I lay down it was HARD, but a second or so after I lay there I was like...cool. It started to conform to the shape of my body.

After my first night I felt good and slept good, but was a bit achy. I didn't think anything of it, but the second a night I had the same thing on wakening. To be honest, I was going to throw in the towel. I wrote to the company telling them that I didn't think this was going to work out. You see, I have a torn rotator cuff that affects my right side of my body - my neck, my shoulder, and my misalignment is also in my hip. Yes, I'm a hot mess. In my head I was convinced that more nights wouldn't make a difference. I even put my old mattress back on, and you know what happened? I was like...umm...this old mattress is awful! {{head smack}} Meanwhile, JC
loved the NECTAR and the kids loved it for their naps.

Quickly I wrote back to the company and told them I'd like to give it a few more tries because I think my body needed more time to "relearn" my sleep position. I even apologized for being flaky about changing my mind so many times because I'm normally not like that. It drove me nuts to be keep changing my mind, but I wanted it to be right.
After a few nights more of our NECTAR mattress review, no more aches, no more wondering if I had made the right decision. It felt RIGHT. I was getting ready to take updated pics and I heard two of my girls giggling to each other. This is how I found them...

Like I mentioned, our bedroom is kinda like the sweet spot in the house for all to come to chillax. Seeing them enjoying this space made me feel like this mattress was good thing.

I can happily say that after our NECTAR mattress review we have decided to keep it. We feel good, we sleep good, and all are enjoying it to the full. Everybody loves a happy ending, don't they? We do!

Just so you know we aren't always in a pig pile on our bed, here's a view of the mattress set up and styled. Our bedroom hasn't changed much in the last two years since our remodel. We love it more and more. You can ready all our DIY for the floor, ceiling, walls, and more
in these posts.

I change things up seasonally like the bedding and minimal decor, like the wreaths. This one I made from a fantastically scented eucalyptus I have fallen in love with. The blue-green leaves are my favorite.

Our family of 8 is excited to say we've enjoyed this NECTAR mattress review. Kids are happy, husband is happy, and even this mama is happy. If you want to give a mattress a try for yourself, I highly recommend it. Read for yourself and
