Sometimes you just know a piece needs a new life. Take this vintage Lane entertainment stand. Here's what I first saw at a thrift store.

Yes, please! It's cute, functional, and full of that Mid Century vintage vibe I adore. You can see
my past MCM makeovers HERE. However, it does need updating and a refreshing new look because it's worn and has damage...er...puppy damage. The corner and a few legs were chew toys.

Additionally, on the inside there is some chemical damage that will be fun to deal with. And, on top there are ring marks all over.
DIY TIME
First, I make repairs to the chew toy with some wood filler and sand it smooth once it cures. Then, I staple the back on to make it nice and solid.

Next, I apply a stain-blocking primer called BIN primer by Zinsser with a micro foam roller

While that cures, I apply a fun design to the sliding doors. Gotta have some fun with it, right?
THE REVEAL
Finally, after adding a fun color to the interior and dressing it up a bit more, we have our finished vintage Lane entertainment stand made new.

The primer did the trick to hide all the bleed-though. Plus, the inside has a fun pop as well. peek-a-boo!

Additionally, this stand was originally for storing a record player on top with LPs in the bottom, but now it can be used for most anything...nightstand, end table, entry console...you get the idea.

So tell me...what would you use it for? If you'd like to make it part of your home story, you can find it and more available in my online shop.
