Very seldom do I turn down anything that is made of wood. For me, it's kinda like as a kid when you would look up at the sky and see dinosaurs, horses, or a boat in the clouds. I tend to see past the obvious and envision something more. When I am offered this cute vintage folding table, I couldn't resist! Would you have guessed it was a table? Folding Table Before Makeover by Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces It's definitely old, definitely cool, and definitely in need of TLC. I am so impressed with how this is made. Two knobs on the short ends, and this awesome design folding legs underneath. Also, oodles of spiderwebs...yes! Vintage Folding Table Legs Underneath | Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com

DIY TIME

Let's get this DIY party started! First, I apply a soft white paint with my paint brush to create a base layer on which I can work. Painting Vintage Folding Table with White Paint by Larissa of Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces Once that layer cures, I add a textured layer using a frottage technique and a beige paint. It's one that makes a dappled effect and allows your base layer to peek through. You can see how I've used it on a dresser in this past post HERE. NEXT STEPS

Next, after that paint cures, I tape off the edges with painter's tape so I can create the faux luggage look I'm after. Taped Off Folding Table | prodigalpieces.com After this, I'll be honest, I get lost in the fun. Sometimes I just want to carry on and then realize I may skip steps for you. But, that's okay, right?

I just found a table exactly like this today minus the knobs at the end. I too was struck by the ingenious design of it. How it folds and holds it's self shut. I was wondering if you have heard any more about age, maker, value, name of the design. I bought mine for $15 at a junk shop. If you find out any more information please let me know.

PS. Do you still have the pull/knob or at least a better photo so I can look for replacements for mine. Thank you so much.

Great score for you! I honestly don't know anything more about it. My table sold, so I don't have any better pictures for you. Sorry I'm not more help. :)
