All good things come to an end, right? If you have been following me for a while, you'll know that I was blessed with a huge gift. As a matter of fact, back about a year ago a cabinet installer gave me a portion of his seconds cupboard door stash...like 75. {{GASP}} Further, I have reworked many, but also given away several to those who needed them. However, for most of them I have created upcycled cupboard door projects. Upcycled Cupboard Doors Before Upcycling by Larissa of Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces Here are two of the last four I have left. Today, I'll be giving the one on the right a new life. Meanwhile, I'm saving the one of the left for next week.

DIY TIME

First, for a project like this, I wanted to dive into my junk stash. All good junkers have a trashure stash. Reclaimed Garden Spigots for Farmhouse Upcycled Cupboard Door Fun | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces Since the spring season is upon us (hallelujah!), I've got garden fever. Do you? So, that means we're going to kick it off garden style and have some fun. I have a few reclaimed spigots and rusty garden tools. Beautiful Spring Jonquils | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces For the purpose of making holes for the spigots, I grab my drill and use a forstner bit that is just a hair smaller in diameter than the pipes. That way, I can thread them in nice and tight. Next, I attach keyhole hangers to the back for safe and flush mounting to the wall. TYPOGRAPHY

And so, if you've been around me for awhile, you know that I adore typography. It's so fun to create my own designs, but even better is to hand-paint them. To begin with, I create my typography graphic in Photoshop sized to the correct dimensions. I'm using a favorite quote by Audrey Hepburn. Secondly, I cut it up into "pieces" to fit onto office paper so I can print. In addition, see my tutorial HERE or watch the video below. I use basic artists' brushes of various sizes and fill in. Afterward, once my paint is cured I apply a spray poly topcoat to seal it all in.

GARDEN SIGN

Absolutely Love your sign door; not only the garden saying but that you left the door natural instead of painting it. Great job. Wishing you & your family a very Happy & Blessed Easter.

Thank you for explaining and showing keyhole hangers. What must seem absolutely obvious to you and a lot of others was a mystery to me ? Just how do you hang things on walls without drilling through? Thanks to you I now know !!!!! I am going to buy a stash of these and start practicing. Stay safe, everyone.

I love what you did! You are a genius when it comes DIY & upcycling. I now know what I'm going to do with the cupboard door that I purchased. I'm planning on painting and decorating my kitchen with a coffee theme. I've got some coffee themed stencils & I will use one on the cupboard door. I got my door at Habitat for Humanity Restore.
