Time for a happy dance!! The second Tuesday of each month is a super sweet time for Trash to Treasure Transformations. My gal friends and I work to create projects that inspire you. Hold on though, you'll see their work in a minute. In the meantime, take a peek at the tilt top table found curbside (aka. Curb le Chic). Tilt Table Before | prodigalpieces.com Hard to believe that was left for the curb, right? I feel that it's providential that a friend saw an after-garage-sale post for a few leftover freebies. She said she instantly thought of me after seeing it. Isn't that sweet? Initially, the only obvious thing wrong with it is that the top is missing a nut to hold it on. However, then I find the tilt top table is made of manufactured wood, not real wood. When manufactured wood is affected by water, it causes the top to bubble. Not only that, but one of the legs does not stand right. Nevertheless, there's nothing too hard to fuss with, me thinks.

DIY TIME

First, I need to get a nut for that center bolt. Thanks to my trashure stash, I found one to fit instantly. Tilt Top Table Back Side | prodigalpieces.com Next, I have to tackle the bottom. One of the legs is damaged and doesn't hold tight in the base. Because of that, I have to take it apart and fix it right. Borken Table Leg on Tilt Top Table | prodigalpieces.com Although the leg is damaged, it's not too hard. I just need to straighten this up and use my pocket joint jig to make it stable. Therefore, I need to add two joints on one side and one on the other. Tilt Top Table Leg Joint Repair | prodigalpieces.com Equally important is to also take out the other legs and tighten those up as well. Then, I fill the joints with wood filler, sand everything down, including the top bubbled spots. Last, it's just a matter of deciding how I want to finish this tilt top table. Due to its dainty vibe, I want to embrace it and add this beautifully soft pink. Painting Tilt Top Table Pink | prodigalpieces.com Additionally, I add a bit of highlighting to that scroll-work and other details. It's fun to draw them out giving them the proper spotlight.

THE REVEAL

Pink, I think, is the perfect color for this tilt top table makeover. Isn't it lovely? So pretty in pink, Larissa! If anyone could salvage the damage on this piece it was you. I bet Mandy is so pleased with how you saved this table.

Thanks! I know for her half the fun is the hunt. She gave me her Art Deco sewing desk to revive. It's so neat! Even has the original ink well.
