There's always bit of excitement in the air when the second Tuesday of the month rolls around, at least for me and four other bloggers. Welcome to Trash to Treasure Tuesday where my gal friends and I whip up new inspiration for you using found, cast-off, misfit, or just plain ugly items. With that being said, look at this...umm...quirky thrifted planter.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's
another goose with yet another heart, and... it's totally ready for an all-new purpose. Am I right or what?

Not only is it nearly new and cute, but also
too cute for my taste. What to do? Upcycle it!! In case you're wondering, I have upcycled another LARGER Canada goose back
in this post. He's stellar now, just sayin'. Additionally, you can see my other
geese makeovers and
heart refashions as well. (click/tap each text to see)
GOOSE BE GONE
First order of business is to take off that silly goose head. With one flick of a screwdriver, it's off with his head!

Now, hold your tears for the goose. Sign up for my free email newsletter to see what becomes of him and his heart in my next post. tee hee!

After that, here's what I'm left with. hmmm...it instantly makes me think woodland.

Then, that leads me to dig into my sock stash from
my sock doll and animal creations and I come out with this loot.

Do you spy a squirrel in there? Also, notice the little wooden acorns I have on hand. I told you I was a nut.
SOCKS RULE
Yes, I'm a sucker for all things handmade, so I begin with my needle and thread to form a body beginning with the neck.

Once sewn, I think stuff a belly and legs in. Additionally, I leave a little space in the bottom to put a little pack of rice in the bottom so my little squirrel can sit upright.

Next, it's at this point that I get totally into what I'm creating and skip taking pics. No worries, I'll show you him in a second, however.
TREEHOUSE
Okay, back to the thrifted planter inspiration of a treehouse. In order to make my woodsy vision come to life, I want to add a cozy awning for my mouse friend. I grab a bit of trim and cut it into mini awning and attach with my nailer. In addition, take a peek at how
this other treehouse had me dabbling in toy creations.

Also, I want to make it cute, so I cut a few felted wool leaves to go on top. Likewise, you can see my other felted toy creations for
my upcycled farmer's market or
my sweet shop/market/garden as well.

If you know me, I just love creating my own wool felt for various projects (
SEEN HERE). You can see what I did with these thrifted sweaters used as upholstery in the video below.
WHY, HELLO THERE
Finally, meet my newest little creation inspired by a weird goosey thrifted planter. haha. Isn't Hank a plump cutie?

Hank is tucking away his acorns for the cold winter that's brewing. I daresay, his little belly shows he is well-fed!

Now I have to ask...are you feeling inspired? Or, maybe you're thinking I'm a little nuts for seeing a thrifted planter in such a fun way. hee hee. Not only do I thoroughly enjoy every bit of what I do, but also hearing feedback from you is the ultimate cherry on top. On the other hand, if you'd like to adopt Hank, his treehouse, and his nutty addiction, you can find him and more available in
my online store.
