It's been a weird last few weeks and months - I'll even say the last few YEARS. There is no doubt I see God working in every bit of it. It almost makes me wonder how many more twists and turns there will be, and I better hang on for the ride! In my so-called adventures, I happen upon a few goodies that need some attention... er... a
trashure makeover. For instance, this, I think, is a coat rack that caught my eye. Yeah, I might be the only gal that sees a repurposed wood tote. Do you see it?

If not, hang on for this ride as I take this not-so-functional piece and revive it funky style.
CHOPPIN' TIME
First, I need to remove those knobs and wobbly Shaker pegs. I'll be honest and say I was totally drawn to the blue on this (big surprise, right?).

Over the years, I've build coat racks galore and have repurposed hundreds of things (see more in
my Project Gallery)
Then, my thrifted coat rack board gets to have a whale-of-a-time with my miter saw and
DIY dust collector hood.

Next, after making four cuts, I have the pieces for my tote. After that, I simply use my brad nailer and few scrap pallet pieces to put the tote together. Oh, and check out this croquet piece I've saved for nearly ten years for this moment!

Isn't it perfect?!
TOTE FOR THE WIN
Last, I just have to say I'm glad I picked up that coat rack in the first place. I nearly made it into a small stool, but didn't want any waste, so tote it is.

Not only did I need that peppy blue to brighten up my gray days, but also making something brings delight to my heart.

In addition, my sunflowers bring bees and birds to brighten my days right outside my window. What a blessing!
