Oh, happy day! It's Trash to Treasure Tuesday, a time where my blogger friends and I create projects to inspire you. Afterward, you'll see their fun in a bit. But for now, take a peek at these vintage stacking tables. Aren't they cute? Vintage Stacking Tables Before Makeover by Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com I'm so thankful to my friend, Linda, who offered these to me. Recently, she is downsizing her mother's things and thought I would like to have these as a project set. They're solid wood and have a great style and function. However, they do have wear to the tops, mostly. Vintage Stacking Table Tops | Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com Nothing I can't handle, right? I'm smitten with the turned legs with a bit of Queen Anne style to the foot. They're cute!

DIY TIME

Even though they're worn, I envisioned a sort of botanical style to these vintage stacking tables. So, in order to do that, first, I use my sander to remove the mottled finish. Sanding Stacking Tables with DeWalt Sander | prodigalpieces.com Undeniably, they look better with the worn finish removed. Next, I use an antique white stain to give the table tops a washed feel. Antique White Stain for Vintage Stacking Tables | prodigalpieces.com Then, to add the botanical vibe, I created three different transfers using my transfer method. I created a peony, a daisy, and a daffodil. Woot! Undeniably, my winter days already have me ready for spring blooms. Are you feeling it too? NEXT STEPS

Last, but not least, it's time for the base and legs to get refreshed. Because these vintage stacking tables created sort of a tiered effect when together, I thought an ombré cascade of soft greens would be perfect. In addition, it's similar to the effect I gave a set of nesting tables in this post HERE. First, I add three different colors, one to each table. Painting Stacking Tables | prodigalpieces.com Then, I add a smidgen of distressing. Last, I apply a touch of wax to add dimension as well as protection.

THE REVEAL

Here are my vintage stacking tables complete and ready to go. I could see them in a living space with plants and oodles of light. Certainly, each one offers a unique feel with the soft tones, as well as the different flowers. First, that "hint" is going to drive us all insane you know! And the tables are lovely. I would never have thought of painting the legs ombre colors. Not only is the idea great, but the colors you chose are beautiful.
