Yahoo!! It's the last Tuesday of the month and I'm back with a new Reduce, Reuse, REFASHION project for you. I skipped last month to wrap up a project already in process. However, this time, I've got an upcycled sweater sloth to create. (yes, you read that right...haha) Reduce, Reuse, REFASHION series hosted by Larissa of Prodigal Pieces | Come learn to create for you and your home | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces Meet my beautiful pink cashmere sweater. In recent winter months it succumbed to an ill fate of moths. sniff... While I might be all, "say it ain't so!!". My other creative half says...ooh...project!! Pink Cashmere Sweater Before Refashion | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces Before you call me crazy, I do have a reason to get excited my pink sweater has moth holes. My last cashmere sweater (a gift to me from my older brother) met a similar fate. Again, I didn't dare toss it, but gave it new life. See HERE. Hole in Cashmere Sweater | prodigalpieces.com

DIY TIME

This time around I have a special occasion to create for and this suits the bill perfectly. My littlest is celebrating a birthday and I want to make something for her. First, I originally planned to use a faux fur. However, when I am at the The clerk looks up at me and says, "You're going to have fun sewing with this". Then, she proceeds to fold the fabric. Even more fur blasts into the air. The little voice in my head says, "what are you doing???" Gray Faux Fur Fabric | prodigalpieces.com Then the next day is when I find my sweater. To save myself a nightmare, plus give my daughter something made from my sweater is a bonus. Now, I have worked with faux fur many times, but this one looked horrible. Donation box! To begin, I have in mind a sweet upcycled sweater sloth. My girl is delighted by those creatures and I knew it will give her a squishy, lovey doll. Thankfully, there is a free pattern for an adorable pet here at Choly Knight. I mean, who wouldn't love a cashmere plushie?! I pull out my felted wool and find the perfect matching pink and black accents. Next, I print the pattern and begin my work. You can see my other sewing projects in this gallery. NEXT STEPS

The first cut was a hard one. Just close my eyes and have at it. eep! Cutting Cashmere Sweater Sleeve | prodigalpieces.com Not only do I have plenty of fabric for my sloth, I also have plenty to save for more fun later. Yippee!! I'm not a last-minute person, but sometimes it happens. But...at least I can!

So cute!!! Both of them!!! I hope your baby girl had a wonderful birthday. This cuddly toy will mean even more to her as she grows older... because her mother made it for her with love. ?

It such a joy to me to pray over them while I create. The cherry on top is to see them open their gift. Thank you, Karen.

That sloth is so adorable. Almost as adorable as your sweet daughter. As our baby granddaughter continues to grow I plan to continue with homemade gifts as well. This sloth would be so fun to give. Thanks for all the creative ideas each week.

The sweater sloth is absolutely ADORABLE, almost as adorable as its new owner! As soon as I saw it my thoughts immediately went to my two-year-old granddaughter and pink is her favorite color. Her birthday is in September so I have lots of time to find just the right soft cuddly sweater. Pinned

tee hee! I can't say enough how I love that it was a God-wink occurrence to find the sweater as I felt it better suited my gift AND I didn't have to use that awful faux fabric. Your granddaughter will love it! :D
