Yahoo! It's time for trashure makeover 2 of my headboard/footboard set i found curbside 2 years ago. Two days ago I shared what I did with the headboard. Today, I'm sharing my upcycled coffee table from the footboard. (pssst...don't forget the giveaway! See below for details) Curbside Wood Before Upcycled by Larissa of Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com If you read my post where I upcycled the headboard (a great read BTW ;) ), you know that I also found a bunch of junkin' goodness. Likewise, salvaged piano parts are also being added to this build. When I built the first table, I used the heftiest part of the maple pieces. This time, I'm using the next section down. DIY TIME

First, I cut a skirt from 1 x 4's and attach using pocket joints made by my Kreg Jig. Also, as mentioned in my last post, I use braces to further strengthen the legs. With the legs attached, I grabbed my sander and gave it all a rub down. THE REVEAL

Unlike the first build of this set that I painted typography on, this time I chose to just let the wood shine. It's so beautiful and only needed a topcoat to protect it. Here it is ready to go. Hmmm, tough decision. I like the simplicity of this one, yet I like the dark legs and sentiment of the 1st one. Either way, I admire your skill and vision. A side note- yesterday on Pinterest I saw someone used the wood part of piano keyboard on a wall. The wood pieces were pulled forward and used to hang items. Very clever idea. I immediately thought of your piano save.

Right? Same for me because the first one has a story. This one the wood got to shine and that made me happy too. Yes, so many uses for them. I wish I could have grabbed it all.

For me it's the second table of course I like the first one also. I pinned for first one and someone pinned my pin. I hope they follow you because you are very creative and have easy to understand instructions/tutorials.

Thank you, Rita. I'm happy to hear it. Anymore, Pinterest is a bunch of stolen images and a big mess. Bloggers are being taken advantage of and it's sad. I do use it, but they can't get a grip on the problem they have.

You have done 2 gorgeous tables & I Love them both. Especially like how the grain of the wood comes through and that they are stained & not painted. You done a great job and each table has their own unique way about them Have an enjoyable weekend. Stay cool, stay safe & stay healthy. In Texas, we will be in the triple digits for next few days, so it's going to be Hot. With heat index; some days will fell like 110 deg. Keep up the great work & thanks for the great inspiration.
