Yahoo! It's time for trashure makeover 2 of my headboard/footboard set i found curbside 2 years ago. Two days ago
I shared what I did with the headboard. Today, I'm sharing my upcycled coffee table from the footboard. (pssst...don't forget the giveaway! See below for details)

If you read my post where I upcycled the headboard (a great read BTW ;) ), you know that I also found a bunch of junkin' goodness. Likewise, salvaged piano parts are also being added to this build. When I built the first table, I used the heftiest part of the maple pieces. This time, I'm using the next section down.
The top (aka. footboard) only needed some minor repairs and I'm good to go.
DIY TIME
First, I cut a skirt from 1 x 4's and attach using pocket joints made by my Kreg Jig. Also, as mentioned in my last post, I use braces to further strengthen the legs. With the legs attached, I grabbed my sander and gave it all a rub down.

I just love how the grain tells a story and really pops when lightly sanded. Isn't it pretty? Here it is in the buff and ready for the next steps.
THE REVEAL
Unlike the first build of this set that I painted typography on, this time I chose to just let the wood shine. It's so beautiful and only needed a topcoat to protect it. Here it is ready to go.

I'm happy that I now have two coffee tables built and both from someone else's trash. You know I love me some
trashure. Do you love it too?

I'm also a sucker for book trash...like these tossed books that make for fun thumbing when I ever get a minute to sit. haha. So...which table is your favorite? This one or the typography one from earlier this week?

In addition, I hope you've enjoyed upcycled coffee table made from Curb le Chic. If you'd like to make this reclaimed coffee table a part of your home story, you can find it available in
my online store

Also, do pin and share my upcycled coffee table to inspire others to think outside the trash. hee hee.
