Mmm...I feel like doing a little junk stash lovin' today. Do you ever get the itch to create? It sparks exciting times, I tell ya. Especially when it includes junk. aaaahhh yeah. When I found these metal trays all rusty and what not at the thrift store for a quarter, I had to have them. I believe they used to be candle trays, but that didn't matter to me. I would find them a new purpose. Check out how I turned these cast-offs into some repurposed candle sconces. Metal Plates Before Repurposed Project | Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com Initially, to get to my idea to come to fruition, I kept turning them over and those fingers holes looked like the perfect size for candles. With that in mind, I need to figure out how to turn them into one is the next step. I instantly saw this rusty metal being the perfect marriage to some barn wood scraps. And what better to create the union than a pair of rusty metal drawer knobs from my antique farm desk makeover? Nothing, I tell ya. tsk. Reclaimed Wood and Rusty Metal Knobs Repurposed | Prodigal Pieces | www.prodigalpieces.com Then, it's time to get funkified junky with my bad self and whip out my favorite drill and get to work. I'm on a roll...hahaha... This was one of those ideas that when it hit me I had to make it NOW. I love what I do. I totally relate. I have a huge 'junk' stash. When inspiration strikes, I must strike as well. Love weathered wood and rusty things....they just go together. Okay, daylight is burning, I must get out to my shop and create!
