Enter in this lovely console style Mid Century dresser...

When I first see this dresser, I am heading home with my kids in tow. It is sitting on the curb outside of a house under renovation. Normally, I would have grabbed my son and jumped out of the truck to snatch it, but I was pregnant so no doing. Solution? Take all the drawers and cram them in, then head home to call hubby to pick up the remnant shell on his way home. SCORE!
MID CENTURY LOVE
I adore the lines and geometric style. It just needed a little bit of love.
It's not often I step outside the chalk paint "box" and use other types of paints, (since it's my all-time favorite paint) but I knew this one would look glamorous with a coat of white to set off those funky drawers.
This was my first time using a sponge roller to apply the paint, rather than a brush. The rollers give a nice stroke-free finish. As you can see, it went very well. So much so that I think I'll try it again on another project. Have you ever used a roller instead of a brush?

I'm loving the contrast! It makes me wish I had a house, with a different room for all the different eras. Wouldn't you?
Also, notice no pulls on the drawers, just smooth sleek lines and plenty of storage space.
It is perfect at center stage in a modern setting or as an entertainment console, don't you think?
