Happy day! I love when I find an unexpected treasure on the curb, or in the thrift store. Today, I'm sharing this ornate antique table I nabbed recently. Isn't it a diamond in the rough?

The legs alone caught my eye, but then I saw the top. eep! If you've followed me for long, you know I adore this style of table. I've refinished this one
HERE, and also this beautiful
inlaid table HERE.

Yes, there is wear, there is damage, but you know that just makes this table more fun to work on. Also, the spreaders down between the leg had all been loved on by a puppy.
DIY TIME
The dog chews are no new fix for me. I've shared my fixed on this
curbside rocking chair that makes it easy to repair. First, I sand down the top with my sander to see what I'm up against with those burned-in circles and gouges.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the burn stains out without damaging the top. However, I was able to remove the gouges and the old stain. Since I wanted to keep any wood that I was able to, I used this gorgeous java gel stain to deepen and hide those remnant marks.

Next, I filled all those dog chew marks with wood filler, let cure, and sanded smooth. Then, it's time to bring on the paint. When I spied the table the scrollwork top reminded me of cowgirl boots. I have always wanted a pair of boots that had brown leather mixed with teal, and maybe some embroidered flowers mixed in.
Here comes the teal...

Not only was the teal a fun addition, but I add my own floral motif to the top as well. Are you ready to see this reveal?
THE REVEAL
Take a peek at my ornate antique table made new. I love it!

The color is easily (& obviously) one of my favorites. I custom mixed a lighter color of the same shade to accent the top and base.

Like most of my makeovers, you can find this table available in
my online store.

Also, pin and share my ornate antique table makeover. I have no doubt there are more beauties out there waiting to be revived.
