Has the autumn weather hit your area yet? We are having an unusually warm October here in the midwest, and you can bet I'll take it!!
The leaves are starting to fall, our garden is slowly going to sleep, and wood splitting is in full force.

Gotta love the scent of fresh split wood. I can feel the winter warmth already.
Seeing that pile just makes me want to start up a fire and grab a cup of cocoa. Mmmmm....
And that doesn't stop me from feeling like continuing to add more fall decorations. I had been wanting to do a corn husk wreath for some time and even had the husks sitting aside for a good month till I finally got to them.
Here's what I came up with:
See what I mean? Not a normal fall here. That sun has been so bright and is always out - you won't hear a lick of a complaint from me!
To make this wreath, I just hot-glued the corn husks (free) to my curbside find grapevine wreath (free - you wouldn't believe how many people throw away perfectly good grapevine wreaths!), added a rusty crusty tart tin from a thrift store find ($.25), and a bit of jute webbing as a hanger (already had on hand from my rockers
here and
here). Added a bit of hand painting, and... Voila!
I love its simplicity and welcoming feeling.
Even better is my favorite perennial, Autumn Joy, mixed with some Chrysanthemums. Not to mention some gourds all atop a curbside find chair - perfect! Can you believe I also got the autumn-colored chevron handmade curbside throw too? tsk.tsk.tsk.

Sigh...fall is here and I'm lovin' every minute. (I may not be saying that after I've raked the yard 12 times and have blisters to prove it.. ahem).
How about you? Still finding ways to incorporate autumn into your home?

More fall goodness for you to enjoy!
