I just have to say...I love when things find me! haha! It makes my adventure short and sweet and offers more time for creativity. For some reason, 80's geese, heart cut-out furniture, and beanie baby paraphernalia always seem to be hunting me down. I am an child of the 80's being born late 70's, so maybe that's why?? haha. Anyhoo, I eagerly embrace the challenge. Check out this tag-a-long cutie. I feel a farmhouse wooden wagon makeover coming on. BRING IT! Handmade Beanie Baby Wagon Before | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces This frame is made of solid wood, which is a bonus for sure. However, that "My Beanies" text has got to go. It's just like the beanie shelf my oldest daughter redid. Top View of Farmhouse Wooden Wagon Before | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces I've always been drawn to wagons as a little girl. You can say that growing up alongside Amish has a part to play with that, but also my adoration for Little House on the Prairie and other books/shows like it. Likewise, I miss the days where I would tow my kids on a long walk with them giggling behind. With that in mind...let's get this farmhouse wooden wagon makeover started!

AGING PROCESS

As you know, I'm a lover of the old and aged. So, there's no doubt I need to create some character over this modern style to make this suit my antique lovin' self. First, I definitely want to cover up that text. However, I also want to dress up those wheels. They're kinda boring in the current state, don't you agree? Next, I use a pencil to draw on some faux spokes for a perfect match for farmhouse decor. It's perfect for making intricate designs on wood and the like. I use it to grind out the spokes to make the recessed just slightly. My apologies for the fuzzy picture. It's raining outside and I'm stuck inside. Painting Farmhouse Wooden Wagon Wheel | prodigalpieces.com prodigalpieces Not only did I use paint, but then also a brown wax to age and a bit of sandpaper for time-worn feel. You know I love me some patina! (real is best, but faux is the way to go when you're doing it DIY style)

I love this little wagon! You always go the extra mile- carving out the spokes makes a huge impact. Like you said, it could be used for pumpkins, Christmas ornaments, spring flowers or summer decor! What a great makeover.
