Flea market and garage sale season is in full swing (I call it fleatiquing) and I have to make myself stay home so I won't overfill my house. Are you that way? I mean, who can pass up a good deal, especially when it's a matter of pennies? You can't go wrong I tell ya, but sometimes a deal can be made better by giving it a quick update with a coat of paint. Some of the things we find may have been glorious at one point, but now they need to be brought up to date. Enter in this vintage magazine rack and patio table... Flea Market Magazine Rack Before | prodigalpieces.com Vintage Iron Patio Table Before | prodigalpieces.com ...both in structurally good condition, and only in need of a cleaning and makeover. Let the fun begin!! Here are the colors I've chosen for my projects, Sage Green and Seaside in a gloss finish. Spray Paint for Flea Market Makeovers by Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com The Sage Green I had left over from giving this sweet vanity chair a custom look for a client. Much better, don't you agree? Vintage Dressing Table Chair Before | prodigalpieces.comVintage Dressing Table Chair After | prodigalpieces.com I wanted to use that same green on the patio table my mother recently gave me to help me in our patio makeover.

DIY TIME

This little table had a bit of rust, but after a good cleaning and a wire brush, I was able to see improvement after one coat of paint. Final reveal on this table will be shown in my patio reveal. Rusted Patio Table | prodigalpieces.comSpray Painted Green Patio Table from Flea Market | prodigalpieces.com For the magazine rack, it was all about that Seaside color I fell in love with in my Rustic Chic Makeover. Isn't it pretty even after one coat?? ♥ Flea Market Style Magazine Holder by Prodigal Pieces | prodigalpieces.com Seriously, what could be easier than spraying on a coat of paint to give a tired piece a new lease on life? Love the blue! I need a beach trip because that's where my mind went with Seaside. Got a question for ya. How did you make that last pic with before/after/paint/label all in one?

Bought some Seaside the other day for a set of metal bistro chairs I picked up for a song at an auction. After seeing your magazine rack I'm confident I made the right choice in paint color - so pretty!

I have a magazine rack similar to yours and was thinking I needed to do something to it. Thanks for the inspiration. On a side note - I wish the flea markets around here held all the treasures you seem to find. In northern CA our flea markets are mainly glorified fruit stands or 'wanna be" antique markets. But that doesn't stop me from going and hope I find a treasure! Thanks again for sharing all your fabulous makeovers! Helen

Great table, got two smaller size, at an estate sale. They were in a lot with other rusty stuff for $2. Had them sprayed and on patio the same day! Have you used the spray snap top gun thingy you can get that saves your fingers and uses a hand grip to dispense? They are hanging in paint isle. I'm finally able to spray a project without finger fatigue! Happy spraying!

Score for you!! Yes, I've seen the spray attachment, but haven't purchase because I have a big time sprayer, the HomeRight Finish Max. ;)

Have you any ideas for those old roll out hide away beds? I have two that are twin size and one that almost looks like a full size mattress could fit on it. You know the ones that would be rolled out for guests? Other than their original usage I can't figure out how to upcycle, revamp or anything else with them and I want to. :D Husband wants to scrap them but I just can't do it.

Oh boy...that's a hard one. Could you use the springs or maybe mount the frame to an outdoor wall and plant succulents? I don't blame you for not wanting to pitch it. You could also build a box on top and use it as a raised garden bed...now my brain is reeling...hahaha.
